Currently log files can be controlled between translations in the File -> FME Options -> Translation

I think it would be very useful if you could quick filter the log as a translation is running and select for example "Warnings only" or "Warnings, Errors". This would mean the log file would contain everything, but in the interface it would allow the user to change the level of detail visible in the log during the translation running.

Hi @simonl, I'm pleased to let you know that in our latest 2018.0 betas you have the option to filter the translation log based on errors, warnings, or informs. You can use this to turn on only warnings and errors to easily see the lines you need to.

This is a great addition.

Another useful filter would be for "Logger" items, or even the opportunity to add a custom filter.
