Transformer that creates 3D lines from azimuths and inclinations

I work with spreadsheets that contain the start coordinates of a line, and then azimuths and inclinations for all the line segments. There is already a 2D version in the form of the 2DDirectionExtender; would love to have this in 3D for drill holes, pipelines, etc.

Hi Sarah,

I have a process created for this in FME that is based off the math from the Minimum Curvature Method (http://www.drillingformulas.com/minimum-curvature-method/). That is a good starting place but one thing to be very careful of is the azimuth north reference (Grid or True or Magnetic?). Luckily, for Grid to True north convergence, there is a handy custom transformer (CoordinateSystemConvergenceCalculator). Other than that, it really is just replicating the math from the Minimum Curvature Equations. For those, all you need is inclination, azimuth, and depth (length) for each point.
