Beginning in Tableau version v10.5 (January 2018), extracts use the .hyper format instead of the .tde format. Extracts in the .hyper format take advantage of an improved data engine, which supports the same fast analytical and query performance as the data engine before it, but for even larger extracts.
Suggest creating a writer for Tableau's new extract file format ".hyper".

Sorry, I have no idea, it's been a (relatively) long time since I used Tableau... Maybe consider contacting Safe support directly about their plans for this format. Maybe they know something that hasn't been signalled here.

Thank you Safe for supporting Tableau... great tool that many of our clients are using. Let me ask this thread.... are there any plans for a hyper reader in FME? I find myself wanting to use this format in automated datasource extracts and to sync data using the Tableau platform and rest api. maybe there is an alternative Im not thinking of to query the hyper file with some other method.... @steveatsafe any tips will be appreciated.

Hi @Reed Whittington, there are no plans at this time but we do have this Format Request recorded in our system.
May I suggest you create an Idea for this to collect your interest (and possibly other community members).
I'm checking to see if there are any 'known' plans to implement this format.
