Based on this question (and the answer that it is not possible in an userfriendly way):

I would like to suggest allowing the Styling options in the Excel writer to take attribute values.

This would allow conditional styling values for different cell values.

Thanks @jdh. But that does not allow what I am looking for.

 

And yes, a lot of improvement ideas for the Excel output have been entered.

 

Time to bump up the priority, I would say.

Having looked at the webinar, this seems realized in FME 2018.
