A complete clone of the StaticMapFetcher in the Transformer Hub, but instead of using Google Maps it should use OSM. Google's base mapping is very restricted in how it can be reused so the OSM background mapping is a better option if the transformer is ever used to create exports (PNG/JPG/etc).

Could you use a WMS service? In that case the standard WMS reader would do fine.
