Recently my FME Server encountered an unexpected shutdown.

As a result my daily scheduled job did not run.

I did not check that on restarting my server what caused me to loose information.

I would like to be able to schedule a job to run after the FME Server startup.

That would allow critical jobs to be run after an unexpected restart of the server (which according to Murphy always happens at the time a job is scheduled to run).

So next to "Immediate" and "Interval based" I suggest "At startup" to be an option for a schedule to run.

I think it would be better for FME server to be able to record all the running jobs before shutdown, and auto-restart those jobs at startup.

I don't think that that's what Erik Jan meant. His job wasn't running when FME shut down.

His daily scheduled job just didn't restart by itself when Server was online again.

What you propose is actually already built-in: it's called RTC (Run-Till-Cancelled) mode, which means that a running job will always restart when server crashes. This option could be set when submitting a job through the Web UI, but this is no longer available in 2016.0 (I think Safe is going to put it back once this functionality has been associated with specific users/roles only). You can still set it if you submit a job using the REST API though.

Sorry, I misunderstood, he meaned the same RTC should be applied to unstarted scheduled job?

There are two wonderful new things in FME Server 2019.0 that will allow a user to create a workflow that will execute on startup..

There is a new "System Events" feature that has an event for FME Server Startup. You can use this as a trigger in the "Automations" feature for an action, such as running a workspace. (Bonus: You can have both the FME Server Startup or the schedule trigger the workspace run – among other things.)
