The FME AR app is really easy to use and is an incredibly quick way of making models usable in augmented reality. I am however missing the ability to know at what scale I'm viewing content within the app. So here are a few improvements to the app that I would like to see added:

  • Tap for real life scale: A simple button that scales between "model sized" and its true real life scale.
  • Stats for context: The ability to show stats that show some context to the model. For instance, what scale the model is shown in, the current dimensions of the model and the real life dimensions of the model.

Model scale functionality is now greatly improved in iOS version of FME AR.

With updated (FME 2020.0) FME AR Writer and FME AR app version 1.4 or higher, the user has control over the model default loading scale. Also, in the app, the scale can be easily adjusted.

Android version of FME AR is coming soon.
