Yes please, this is an odd limitation in user parameters - I can import values into a choice list using SQL (or other formats) during the design of a workspace, but it's a one-off import and never refreshes the choices list whenever the workspace is run in FME or as a Server App.

Our use case is in particular is for FME Server Apps, in particular - we're trying to create tools to automate processes with FME, and a number of these would require selecting values in choice parameters, from databases which change frequently so having to update the workspace manually is a real nuisance.

A sincere apology to those who have voted or viewed on this FME Community idea and noticed that its status was set to In Development, as I regret to inform you that this status change was made in error and this is not in progress just yet.

Please note that we haven’t fully defined the solution space, so the ability to use SQL may ultimately not be implemented though we do intend to address the main problem of “allow the list of parameter options to be defined dynamically through some external source”.
