Pan beyond extent of workflow

I would like to be able to pan beyond the extent of the workflow, which I believe is currently not possible. This would make it easier to create room for additional workspace items, which I would currently do by zooming out.

Excellent idea! The currently annoying behavior is the worst I've seen in years. Zoom into a transformer/writer, drop down the list of attributes and try to see the bottom one when you have 50 attributes. Good luck! No, zooming out-in-out-yada-yada-yada, is not my cup of tea. I like the scrolling method of accessing things. At least make it a bloody user setting! Let me worry about finding my transformers! It's not your job to do so, Safe! Or at least write better code to handle it! This is miles below par for software this expensive.

Interestingly enough, I found myself just a tiny bit annoyed by lack of canvas expansion on the right just last night as I was working with FME 2018. That said, I was unable to duplicate the scenario you hit @par_smars -- can you advise what FME you were using? I just tried it with a table with 200 columns, and expanding to show the attributes does grow the canvas as you'd hope and expect (at least on FME Mac 2018.0)

The lack of right expansion annoys me as well. My current workaround is to grab the last transformer and drag it to the right to create space and then return it to the original position.

This would make FME a lot more intuitive to use. It's really annoying to need to zoom out or move an object on the workspace to expand the workspace.
