I'd like to be able to set transparency in Workbench Inspectors like in the Data Inspector application itself. This can be useful when viewing overlapping polygons using a consistent color each time. E.g. You can chosen a blue for one layer and a yellow for another, with transparency to create a green where they overlap.

It is possible to define fme_color and fme_fill_color FME Feature Attributes with transparency (RGBA) so the transparency support exists.

Hoping that is just a simple interface change!

As I mentioned over in https://knowledge.safe.com/idea/45552/datainspector-fill-opacity-default-to-50.html just now, you can achieve this (in a slightly awkward way) adding transparency to the color.

If you set the fill color in an inspector transformer, you can then additionally add the transparency you want to it. As in: 1,0,1,0.3 -- I just typed a ",0.3" after whatever the color was and it works. We can make this nicer but short term it is a workaround
