New Writer: AutoCAD Civil 3D

I would like to ask why Civil 3D does'nt have the writer capabilites?

Yes!

Civil3D writer support would be fantastic for GIS to BIM workflows.

Eg. if you have a regional stormwater network in GIS, being able to convert that to a Civil3D pipe network would be great

I agree with Kelvin, a C3D writer (with both pipe network and pressure network support) would solve a lot of issues on the BIM/GIS workflows. Please Safe, add this much needed writer :-)

Writing to C3D is a common requirement for people working with infrastructure / utilities.

A Civil 3D writer would save us a lot of time and frustration. Right now, we have to use an importer within Civil 3D which involves several manual schema mapping steps which so far I have not found a way to automate.

I completely agree with @kelvin.jenkins regarding the importance of CAD to BIM workflows. This transformation is increasingly essential as we strive to meet global openBIM standards, with organizations such as buildingSMART spearheading these efforts. Implementing such workflows will be a crucial component in enhancing the Common Data Environment (CDE).

Hi ​@LizAtSafe , please, is there any chance to push this writer into “in development” queue this year? I can imagine many nice usecases how to use this Civil 3D wiriter :-)

This one really does keep coming up as a critical option, there are quite limited options for writing to this format for the purpose of automation, an FME writer would be a game changer.
