Wouldn't it be fantastic to have the LeftRigthSpatialCalculator functionality to be included in the NeighborFinder? I just thought of it when I saw the "idea" below:

+1In my profession, we use linear referencing all the time and also use the negative sign for the distance to the reference line to indicate it is on the left side of the line. My current workflow with a number of road centerlines, either crossing or close together, has loops to check on which centerline the _closest_candidate(x,y) falls before I can do the LeftRightSpatialCalculator with the correct centerline
