It seems a lot of users are taking to using FeatureReader and FearureWriters in place of traditional readers and writers.

I wonder if it’s time to give these two transformers a new color to help them stand out?

Why not use a bookmark in your favorite color?

Why not use a bookmark in your favorite color?

Definity a fair point, but I’m not really worried about my workspaces - just generally about readability at glance.

the same argument could be said I think for all transformers which touch something external to the workspace. HTTPCaller, SQLExecuter, etc.

At a glance of any workspace you could get a good overview where a workspace relies on something external.

They already have additional icons which is helpful, but at a glance they don’t exactly stand out. Maybe color has gone out of fashion, but I would find it pretty nice

I agree with @geomancer  here and in fact it’s a key point of our Best Practice tips. Any transformer that’s used to read data (so not just a FeatureReader, but also for example an AttributeFileReader) goes into a special color bookmark, same for any transformer that’s being used to write data.
