Each time I'm launching Data Inspector, background map tiles are downloaded again and again.

When you make several tests on the same zone in a short period of time, it would be great to have a local cache for tiles, so same tiles are not downloaded again (to preserve bandwith).

So I would like options in Data Inspector to configure a local folder where background tiles would be cached with a maximum folder size and a maximum tiles age.

The licensing agreement for most of the online tile servers prevents us from doing this, but we can keep this in mind if/when/as we find or re-examine the ones we have now. I do agree that this would speed things up a great deal.
