The traditional AGOL reader has the option to read attachments using the "Include Attachments" option, which is not present in the "Feature Reader" transformer. Including the option to read AGOL attachments using the feature reader would allow for a more streamlined workflow using initiators supplying a WHERE Clause dependent on logic upstream.

Great idea!

This would very helpful! I want to create custom transformers to automate this process. Leveraging parameters within FeatureReaders would require this functionality to access attachments natively vs. making URL calls with HTTPCaller.

I did notice after posting this idea that you already beat me to it, so here's the link to that! https://community.safe.com/s/bridea/a0r4Q00000I0oruQAB/expose-arcgis-onlineportal-atttachments-thru-featurereader

Thanks for finding my post....I forgot I suggested the idea. I've been wanting this functionality for a while now. It would also be nice to have this added to the 'Esri ArcGIS Server Feature Service' reader type within the FeatureReader.

This would be incredible useful. Attachment reading is really slow, and so anything that helps read the attachments in more targeted ways is helpful.

For anyone who is interested, I created a sample workspace for reading the attachment metadata with the httpCaller and parsing the JSON and then getting just the attachments I want. I also really like the idea of @neilmyoung  to have an option just to read the metadata in the Reader/Feature Reader at first, as well. And then could have a reader option to just get the attachments via their url. That is mentioned in the comments of the other idea that is similar.
