Quite commonly I read in a zipped fGDB and would like to suggest that the auto-recognition of this format be improved.
FME (2017.1) recognises a zipped fGDB as being of format "EDIGéO". fGDB is surely a much more common format and defaulting to "Esri Geodatabase (File Geodb)" would probably help many of us.

For Safers reading this: you'll want to be looking for PR56665.

Additionally - can it check if a folder is actually a GDB and not just a folder with .GDB in the folder name - maybe tricky?

Often get a zip file which when you unzip can become

.\\MyExample.GDB\\MyExample.GDB (with the latter actually being the database. You can't progress through the first folder when browsing as it thinks it is a GDB.
