This could be an option to add on “FME Options Appearance”.

If it helps, the ‘greyed-out’ look in 2024.1 is quite a bit lighter than before. It should help to identify enabled/disabled options on the toolbar. In .0 I couldn’t tell if the Save button was active or not. It’s now easier to see at a glance in .1

I note we’ve merged into the an idea that’s phrased in the positive instead of a lackluster GUI, however this doesn’t mention anything about incorporating theme options which would affect far more than just the navigator.

Even after looking at 2024.1, we’re going to stick with 2023 for usability reasons.

Also, font. Go for a full ‘pre-2024 skin’ option. As someone with visual issues, I find the new font and colour palette difficult to look at for a prolonged period, and I develop in FME all day long. The old look was way easier for me to deal with - and that’s not just me rejecting any change at all. (Appreciate you can delve into Appearance and change it, but am curious to know why the change.)

I’m in favour of progress, but there seem to have been a lot of pointless changes made. Why change the inspect data icons from the magnifying glass? That smacks of change for the sake of it, and is as welcome as Microsoft unnecessarily substituting daft icons for the words ‘cut, copy, paste’. So established users have to do that translation. It’s no longer as intuitive. In fact, that’s my overall summary. 

I do appreciate some of the changes - being able to disable a transformer with one click is great. 

Does this include the option of a pre-2024 theme/skin as per the ideas that were merged with this one ​@LizAtSafe?
