FME Flow - Change automation schedule automatically

Can we have an ability where an FME Automation running on a schedule can automatically change that schedule based on the number of features being read.

For example I am thinking about flooding and  flood warnings, if i have an automation to go and fetch all the flood warnings in the middle of summer i will probably get back zero features and this could be ran once per day, however as the year moves on and the storm season approaches the number of features returned would increase.

In this case, it would be good to increase the frequency for the next run of the automation to every hour, and then as the number of features increases again, to have the automation run every 15 mins

Thanks for the idea—this is an interesting use case! At this time, we won’t be pursuing dynamic scheduling in Automations, as the effort involved is significant and there hasn’t been broad demand. That said, a potential workaround could involve capturing feature count data and using a separate workflow to trigger additional jobs via the FME Flow REST API for specific time windows.
