That is a good idea. We are adding a notification framework to FME Cloud in the next month that will allow you to receive notifications when an instance event occurs. It should be relatively easy to add schedule events to this framework too.

We now have instance events which should cover this use-case. Rather than placing the logic on the schedule, it is on the instance itself.

To access:

  • Select an instance on the FME Cloud dashboard.
  • Click on the new Events tab.
  • Add the Instance Started event and notify either a person directly or via a notification group.
