Keen to see this for FME Server, would make workspace design even more flexible for server purposes.

You are now able to use the FeatureWriter in Data Download and Data Streaming when published to FME Server! This feature is in the latest FME Server and Desktop 2019.0 betas.

Note: Screenshot taken with FME Workbench 2019.0 beta Build 19224, connecting to the same version/build FME Server.

---

Please note that this feature is currently included with the beta version of FME Server and its functionality and appearance are subject to change as the product continues to evolve before the official release.

Should this feature or its implementation not address your concerns, related to this Idea posting, please let us know by leaving a comment.

As with all beta features and beta versions of our software, they are not considered production-safe and should be incorporated into your workflows with consideration and testing.

@rylanatsafe - I'm using this in FMEServer 2020 and the zip output has an extra 'FeatureWriter' folder above the expected 'output' folder - anyway to resolve this? (I'm using a generic writer within the FeatureWriter) - thanks

Also, this doesn't seem to work if your FeatureWriter chosen format is FileCopy
