Photogrammetry doesn't feel like the Marie Kondo method of ETL, but technology that did what Photosynth did from photography would be very cool. Go out and take some snaps with your phone/drone and build a model.

Hi Mark,

There are many applications for building 3D mesh from a smart phone video. Especially when you combine this with augmented reality. Your user has got a smart phone, visualizes 3D data as AR objects and could capture a video of reality, have FME server to build a 3D mesh (or point cloud) and send this back to desingers for updating 3D desings.

AR is definetely a fast growing sector and high definition multiple cameras mobile devices may soon become the norm. FME already supports AR, supporting photogrametry could close the loop for many business cases.
