I like to have the option to disable (and enable of course) parameters.
For example specific user parameters. So not all user parameters at once, but very specific user parameters in the User Parameter management window.

If I have build a template with really some user input which can differ in projects, I like to scan in the UI of the User Parameters manager which user input is published and which not. When the font is greyed or something, it tells imediately if it is published or not.
It certainly would help if you have more than 5 or 10 user parameters.
Agreed, it's a nice to have ;-) not a must per se
