As someone who relies heavily on the emailer transformer, seeing Microsoft move away from SMTP AUTH is a little scary. They're strongly encouraging customers to move away from basic authentication with SMTP AUTH when possible.
It sounds like SMTP will be around for a while longer, but it would be nice to have OAuth support in the emailer as security continues to become a major priority.
