Original Title was: Custom width setting for Readers, Writers, Transformers etc instead of fixed/dynamic


Currently Readers, Writers and Transformers use dynamic width.

For aesthetic and readability's sake it would be preferable to be able to change this according to one's preferences, as a preset.

I think you can. Check Tools > FME Options > Appearance and scroll to the bottom. There is a Default Transformer/Reader/Writer Size.

Does this do what you need?

Not quite, fixed width ? custom width.

I like to have the width slightly larger than standard. And I'm given to understand that some like the "old school" width which was slightly smaller. As per @redgeographics. Hence, custom width.

Ah, I get it now. Makes sense. I think this is one of those scenarios where we'll have to wait and see how many upvotes this idea gets. Here's hoping.
