Custom shape bookmarks

Hi ​@mperry, could you share a screenshot of your workspace where you would find a custom bookmark shape useful?

This is just a simplified example.

Take this section of a workspace for example:

I have everything nice and compact but would now like to create bookmarks, so my end result would be this: 

Due to not wanting to overlap bookmarks, there is now a lot of wasted space. In this example, the workspace is quite small so it’s not a big deal, but when dealing with large and complex workspaces, and when wanting to create a bookmark that encapsulates more transformers, a lot of wasted space makes the workspace harder to read and use. Instead, having custom shape bookmarks would keep everything nice and compact, like this for example:

I can still keep everything close together and easy to read, and it can really save a lot of space with more complex workspaces

Thanks for the detailed example and mockup.

After reviewing this idea, we’ve decided not to pursue custom bookmark shapes. While we recognize the underlying problem, we’ve decided not to move forward with this particular solution.
