It would be nice to have the ability to convert a writer into a reader. In some occasions you write a dataset and then want to use it right away.

+7No, I guess he means actual Readers and Writers (at the beginning/end of your dataflow).
So that you can click a Writer and then select "Convert to Reader" and bam! It becomes a Reader for the same file/feature type and format, without the need to add a Reader and fill in all the details.
If he means in the same workspace, it seems to be exactly what I suggested.
Bit IF he means in different ws, a copy and conversion might be needed.

Nope, just like @sander_s says click a Writer and then select "Convert to Reader" and bam! It becomes a Reader for the same file/feature type and format, without the need to add a Reader and fill in all the details.
I believe FeatureWriter is a new addition in FME 2016 that enables you to do just that.

Sure, it's the same functionality but I don't want the translation to run each time. Just once. So a right-click on a writer to convert it as a reader would be the best solution.

It'd be just as useful to create a writer from a reader. Add the reader, right click, create writer from reader. Really handy for when you are doing feature updates.
