Consider support for CMIS - Content Management Interoperability Services

CMIS is an OASIS open standard for interfacing with content management repositories (upload and download documents, versioning, metadata) and appears to be supported by recent builds of Sharepoint, Laserfiche, OpenText and more.

I'm not sure how feasible this is, but it looks good on paper..

We have implemented Laserfiche, and if FME were able to read all metadata (including filename) and the document binary, this would allow us to use FME rather than custom code to export internal documents for display on the web, greatly simplifying maintenance. A Laserfiche-reader would be optimal, but if CMIS can kill multiple EDRMS with one stone, everyone wins (except the EDRMS. which is dead. perhaps not a good analogy.)
