The ability to "watch" your workbench process is one the most AMAZING things about the development environment. I would like to see a "Clear Counts" button, somewhere, that would erase all of the counts, off of the connecting lines? Right now you have to Save, then reopen the workbench. This is not a huge deal, but it might be helpful to "clear the screen," on demand.

Agree though that being able to quickly clear the counts would be nice. Turns out we already have it.
Just customize your toolbar and add the "Show counts" button. I've circled the Mac version of this below.

Just ensure it is "on" when you run. The numbers roll by. Tired of seeing the numbers? Click it once to get rid of them. And click it again to "arm" the numbers so they'll roll by next time.
I think this is handy enough, so much so I'm going to be so bold as to mark this ideas as "complete". (Thanks for asking, I personally didn't realize this worked like this until now...)

PS: I do agree that seeing the #s rolling by is the most amazing thing since sliced bread. Can't believe we ever ran without it.
+2And the weird thing is when you go back to FME 2014 you think there is a problem when running the Workspace as they don't appear!!
