To Clear the entire feature cache a user has to go to the first transformer, right click it and select clear data cache.  Or start and stop the translation quickly.

I’d like the option to clear the entire cache when I right click anywhere in the canvas and additionally a clear cache button in the toolbar would be nice.

This would help speed up the development process and improve user workflow for a feature that already exists but could be improved.

Hi @fmle, what version of FME are you currently working with? Some big changes have been made to how we cache in 2026.2.

That being said:

  • Going to Utilities > Purge Temporary Files is one alternative way to clear caches.
  • Alternatively, you can clear caches for specific readers, transformers, or bookmarks:
    • Clearing the cache of a selected reader or transformer removes its cache, along with the caches of all downstream items.
    • Clearing the caches for a selected bookmark removes the caches of all items within the bookmark, as well as all downstream items.
    • To clear these caches, right-click a reader, transformer, or bookmark and select Clear Data Cache.
