In the current ChangeDetector, Original Unchanged and Original Deleted features have Ports, while Revised Added features also have a port. Can we please have a "Revised Unchanged" port added?

This is because the ChangeDetector can be used for just some attributes, rather than all attributes, meaning it may be testing a range of scenarios, yet we lose the "Revised Unchanged" features by using the transformer, and this may be the subset we want.

Good point. The old argument was that the "Unchange" are unchanged, so it doesn't matter if they are original or not. But I get and see and believe the point here. Thanks.

Think the ChangeDetector could do with a good overhaul to increase flexibility. I've come across a few gotchas using this and it's cousin the UpdateDetector custom transformer.

I had to reverse the ports on the UpdateDetector custom transformer because of this. I wasn't checking all attributes, but I did want the Revised feature to come through.

Maybe a setting that controls which "unchanged" features are output.

This idea has been implemented for FME Desktop 2019.0. The ChangeDetector have been overhauled to replace the UpdateDetector and this includes a new parameter which permits users to choose which unchanged features (Original, Revised, or both) are output out of the Unchanged port.

Should this feature or its implementation not address your concerns, related to this Idea posting, please let us know by leaving a comment.
