We are using this status with two goals in mind:
- To show you that we had a look at your Idea and we use the Open status as opposed to Archiving it (basically saying that this is a valid idea, not something we don’t see ourselves doing right away).
- See how much interests the idea can gather among the community
If we see it gaining traction with the community (or we believe this is a overall valid product improvement) we then investigate in more detail and put it on the roadmap for a future release if we believe the development and maintenance cost is worth the investment.
