I think you should be able to further enhance the documentation of your workspace with some kind of graphical support. Arrows to show the flow, as well as some lighter icon / non-rectangle features, to get a "high-level" flow going. Ideally, this documentation layer should be able to be toggled off as well.

I'll apologize in advance for the look of the suggestion, I'm not an artist and I'm not good at yEd either (which was used to set up this example)

Even if I hope never to encounter the above layout when opening someones work, I still give the general idea a thumbs up.

But, for years i have been wanting a big red exclamation-mark option to place at certain spots. A collegue suggested a thumbs-up icon one can place at nice creative solutions from others one encounters.
