It would be nice if a single user could be a member of multiple FME Cloud accounts. Currently FME Cloud limits one account per email address (even if the email address is assigned as a user, and not an owner or administrator).

We have just released support for users to be part of multiple accounts. Here's an overview of what it means for users.

Single Account

For anyone with a single account, it is business as usual. Logging to console.fmecloud.safe.com will automatically redirect the user to their account subdomain (ie. pascal.fmecloud.safe.com). The navbar now has a new 'Create New Account' link that can be used to create a new account.

Multiple Accounts (<=4)

Logging to console.fmecloud.safe.com will bring the user to an account selection page that lists all the accounts the user is a member of. Going directly to a given account subdomain (ie. pascal.fmecloud.safe.com) will bring the user directly to the given account. In addition to the 'Create New Account', the navbar will also show the list of accounts to allow to quickly toggle between accounts and a 'Show All Account' that brings back to the account selection page.

Multiple Accounts (>4)

Same as above, but the user only sees the 'Show All Account' in the navbar.

Inviting members

The same workflow as before applies. This is done by going to https://account-domain.fmecloud.safe.com/account/members and clicking 'Invite Member'. If a user already exists, they will receive an email inviting them to join the account with their existing user. Otherwise, they will be asked for details to create their user and join FME Cloud.

Leaving account

A user can now leave an account he is a member of by going to https://account-domain.fmecloud.safe.com/account/ and clicking 'Leave Account'. If it is his last account, the user will also be deactivated (as explained in the dialogue shown to the user).

Migrating your multiple accounts to a single user

If you have created multiple accounts using different email addresses and wish to consolidate them under a single user, you can do the following (considering UserA is the one you want to keep and UserB is owner of AccountB)

  1. Login to your AccountB using UserB
  2. Go to the member page
  3. Send an invitation to UserA
  4. Accept the invitation for UserA
  5. Log in again to AccountB using UserB
  6. Go to the member page and change the owner of the account to be UserA
  7. Go to the account setting page and leave the account

UserA is now the owner of AccountB.

Tying to connect to an FME Cloud account i has been invited to without success. Connecting to my client FME Cloud account redirects me to my own FME Cloud account after login. Any clue?
