As per another question, raised by another user, regarding the use of CUDA and GPU support in FME, I would also like to raise this as an idea for future FME releases.

My team and I routinely work with large (terabyte) sized images and we would greatly benefit from having GPU processing to improve the performance of our workbenches, particularly in the output stage.

Can you please add GPU support (particularly for raster reader, transformers and writers) to your development plans?

Thanks

Brad

I agree.

My organization requires our machines to have specific minimum requirements for data processing such as a minimum CPU and GPU.

Proprietary software such as FME should be able to leverage the full capabilities of powerful processors.

I’ve run my workspaces and watched the performance in my Task Manager and found that the process was only using 6 of the 28 threads available from my processor and nothing from my GPU.

It would be great to have the option to control what and how much FME uses.
