Please note that disable a notification and Disable Publisher have been marked as duplicates of this idea.

With the release of FME Server Automations in 2019.0 – we now effectively have the ability to temporarily disable any Publication (Trigger) or Subscription (Action), by disabling (i.e. Stopping) the FME Server Automation you have configured. This idea was created in 2015 – looong before Automations development began! We may opt to close this idea and leave the Notification behaviour as-is (without the ability to enable / disable) and instead promote FME Server Automations as the preferred method should you wish to do this. Please add comments to this comment posting if you strongly feel the ability to enable / disable Notifications would benefit your workflows – keeping in mind that it is possible within the Automations feature.

As there has been no feedback received since my posting, this will be marked as Closed. Please get in touch if you would like to share any feedback! We have no plans to implement the ability to disable the "legacy" Notifications at this time.

I would love the ability to temporarily disable publications. Especially when developing.

That would be a big help. Now for demo purposes I create an incoming email publication, but do not want that to run all the time (just during the demo). At this point the only option is to remove the publication and recreate before a demo. Disabling the publication would be a great solution.

Was just about to suggest this myself while investigating multiple methods of consuming AmazonSQS-data.While developing / doing maintenance / testing it is sometimes annoying that the publication is still active. Deleting it and creating a new one of course is possible, but is quite a hassle finding the credentials-file again and doing the copy-paste-dance.Could work just like 'schedules' which can be enabled and disabled for years now.
