As a Python developer, I would like to be able to import an FME Python API package/module from a Python module on a machine with FME Desktop/Server installed and call any transformer that is present in the gallery.

This would be similar to Esri ArcGIS Desktop arcpy package exposing all the geoprocessing tools from ArcToolbox.

This would let streamline integration of FME and Python ecosystem!

Have wanted this forever. I have done lots of ArcGIS scripting, and, although the overhead of using ArcGIS geoprocessing tools graphically is annoying, using the tools through arcpy is much faster. (arcpy has enough of its own overhead.) So, using transformers from fmeobjects would be terrific! I have zillions of fmeobjects scripts, and many times I wish I could use even just one transformer in the middle of a script, so that I wouldn't have to split the script to use that transformer (or find some other serpentine process to achieve the same without it).
