Parameterising the Inspector tranformer

Related products:FME Form

When running a FME workbench in a production setting, it would be nice to have the Inspector Transformer set as a configurable parameter when running it from command prompt with the fme executable. This avoids editing the Workbench file and helps in quicker deployments.

This is intriguing, but I'm not sure what you're getting at. Do you mean that you'd like the inspector to NOT do anything when it is outside Workbench? I think this would make sense and might be what you're getting at. It would also ensure we'd not publish anything to FME Server that has the inspector enabled.

Well, I was thinking of something like:

fme.exe <abc.fmw>, Inspectors <On/Off>, Loggers <On/Off>

I would like to have Inspectors turned on when the workspace is being developed and tested. But when I put my workspace in a Production setting, I would prefer not to edit the workbench directly by disabling the inspector tranformer(s), rather to have them turned On/Off via the command line as stated above.

The Logger could also be an option that is controlled via a parameter to log info only when needed as long as the logger is connected/built into the workspace at desired logging points.
