Hello everyone,

Here's the first "What's Up Wednesday", which I hope will take off into a regular series of midweek FME tips and news. This first time round, I'm just posting a few news items that came up this week...

New FME Build

Yesterday (4-Aug-2020) we published a new FME build, FME 2020.1.1 (b20608) with some minor fixes for 2020.1

The key updates (to me) are:

  • Fixed the Tester where a cached value is the same as an existing attribute name
  • Fixed partial runs from feature types with spaces in their names
  • Fixed a crash during an FME Server core-only installation

As always you can find this new build on our downloads page.

New Hub Items

In case you weren't aware, there is a monthly digest of all of the functionality added to the FME Hub. For July 2020 the standout highlight is a new Google Sheets reader/writer that supports v4 of their API.

But there are other new tools too, such as:

  • A Quad-Tree generator
  • Shopify transformers (go to the hub and search for Shopify)
  • An updated connector for SharePoint Online
  • A raster brightness adjuster transformer
  • A GeoServer SLD ramp creator
  • ...and many more.

Upcoming Webinars

We have a handful of webinars coming up, but if you're reading this then the most likely one of interest is tomorrow (6-Aug-2020): Everything You Want to Know About the FME Community (and Hackathon)

Speaking of which, the hackathon is now live, and also has a community discussion group set up. Don't forget to form a team and sign up for this event.

Recent Blog Post

Yesterday we had a new blog post on how to post ideas to the community and how those ideas are used to drive FME updates.

I hope you find this short post of interest 😎
