Hello and welcome to What's Up Wednesday: a round up of the weekly FME news...
FME Hub Updates
Do you keep up to date on new FME Hub items? It's pretty easy when you have monthly summaries like this one.
In brief, this month saw new transformers and templates for creating isochrones, normalizing numeric data, downloading ULDK data, and simulating tumors! My contributions were a DateExploder and a Sundial Calculator. Click the link above to check out these items - and more.
3D AR Pipe Textures
In case you missed it, my colleague Dmitri tweeted about an AR example he'd created. Underground pipes were visualized in AR, with a texture that varied according to the pipe's age. Well worth checking out.
30 Days of the New Community
It's been over 30 days since the new-look community was launched. How do I know? Because my automated badging workspace just awarded Early Adopter badges to users who posted in this initial period.
Did you receive this badge? Keep a look out for others that are upcoming. There should be one a month, obtained by posting on a certain secret date!
Social Distancing Project
I noticed this project highlighted on a partner's newsletter, where pavements were mapped according to their width, with a greater width meaning better social distancing. It's pretty interesting, and a great example of rapid prototyping using FME, so go check it out.
FME Installer 2021
Did you hear that the installer for FME2021 is changing to a new style? If not, you must have missed this Expert Note on the subject. In short: one extra dialog to click through, but multiple benefits.
Hackathon 2020
The hackathon is now closed to submissions. The entries were few, but great. Don't believe me? Well, tune in to next week's webinar to help us judge which should be awarded the top prizes.
