Welcome to What’s Up Wednesday. This week we are looking for feedback!
FME User Survey 2020
Take the FME User Survey and be entered to win a $250 Amazon gift card. This year we’ve added extra questions regarding your experience on the FME Community. Any feedback will be greatly appreciated.
Article Feedback
In January, all of our in house FME Experts will be doing a huge knowledge base overhaul. If there is any content you’d like to see updated to 2020/2021 or know of a topic that we are missing, let us know! If you have used this form in the past, it has been updated to report issues as well as request new content.
Live Chat Disruption Next Week
Next week on November 26th & 27th, Live Chat will be turned off. Every year the experts pause their regularly scheduled tasks to come together and create epic projects with FME that they normally wouldn’t get the time to work on. If you need assistance, we suggest posting to the Community, but cases will still be open and Live Chat will be back online on Monday. If you are interested in some of the projects we’ve worked on in the past, check out this blog post.
Architecture, Engineering, and Construction (AEC) Webinar
On Tuesday, November 24th, we will be hosting an AEC webinar. If you are working for an AEC company and are interested in improving your operational efficiency, sign up for this webinar.
FME 2021 Beta
The FME 2021 beta is looking better and better each day. In FME Desktop, some transformers are getting an overhaul, such as the Clipper, TopologyBuilder, and AreaOnAreaOverlayer. As well, you can now add an Oracle Wallet credential file directly into your database connection. In FME Server, we’ve updated the color palette to match our official colors, as well as added data stream capabilities, and job, workspace and queue metrics. If you find any issues with the Beta, please let us know.
FME AR 2.0 Webinar
Our partner Sweco has published an FME AR 2.0 webinar on their website with a guest appearance from Safe’s Dmitri. If you are interested in FME AR, this is worth a watch!
FME Tip of the Day
Today’s tip was brought to you via Twitter:
Improve FME performance by doing as much filtering on the reader as possible. He had a job that took over 3 hours to run. Now it runs in ~8 minutes!
