Is there by any chance some kind of 'Paste as Text' option when Copy-Pasting text (often from online sources) to Annotations in Workbench?

 

Personally I sometimes copy online sources to Annotations. However, I constantly struggle that also formatting is copied.

 

For example, when I copy the following from this FME Community question;

imageand paste it in an Annotation of FME Workbench, the result is;

imageWhereas I would like to get;

imageIs there some option/menu in FME Workbench to do so?

I'm looking for something similar to the 'Keep Text Only' paste option in Microsoft Office.

 

ps. Currently my way to work around this, is to first paste text to notepad, and then to Workbench.

No option as far as I'm aware of. I do all my copy pasting to workbench via Notepad++ to remove formatting.

 

Please create an Idea for this, you will have my vote. I think pasting formatting should be an option, not a default, but that is me.

If not (and I don't think so), I agree an Idea would be the way to go.

Hmmm, this is interesting. Not sure if it is designed to work like this but...

 

Pasting via ctrl-v retains the original formatting. Pasting via right-click -> paste strips the formatting.

I didn't know about that, and that does provide me with an option to paste in plain text 🙂

 

However, as I think it's not so intuitive, and like you mention it's not clear if it is designed to work like this, I'll still create an idea to improve user experience on this front.
