It looks like STAMEN free background maps will be discontinued from 10/31/2023.

Does FME Form automatically show 'STADIA' maps as option from 11/01/2023 for free background maps? Also are there any other free background maps as other options?

Hi @fmeuser_gc

We have incorporated Stadia maps as a free alternative. Please see the Stamen Background Maps Deprecation article for more information.

Thanks @danilo_fme . Unfortunately that's not an open source and requires payment/subscription.

STAMEN is an open source and STADIA is a replacement of STAMEN from 11/01. Do you know FME will provide an option to automatically redirect to STADIA maps?

Hi fmeuser_gc,

If you don't already subscribe, Mark Ireland posts via linkedin, a weekly blog. What's Up Wednesday (4th Oct, 2023): Stamen Maps, NBA Statistics, Using ArcGIS Pro, Upcoming Events, and Disaster Management (linkedin.com)

He mentions at the bottom of this Stamen comment

But we are also looking for a new provider to offer you. If that happens, it will probably be in a hotfix update to FME, so watch out for that.

Thanks @lizatsafe .

Currently we're on FME 2021.1 version and have an API key from Stadia maps. Is there a way to utilize Stadia maps using API key in FME 2021.1 version(as we don't have plans to upgrade to latest version of FME) ?
