Good mourning,

we use fme desktop for windows to launch current treatment, but we also have a *64 linux version when the treatments require more ressources to be launched. Unfortunaltely, some treatments using 'CARIS Spatial Archive (CSAR) Point Cloud' format doesn't work on *64 linux. Indeed, this version doesn't take into account the CARIS formats. According to the log file, this is because the module "gdal/CSAR PC is unavailable for use with this fme edition" (there is no problem wirh the windows edition). Is there any solution to run caris format with a linux edition of FME desktop?

Thank You

Ronan

Hi Ronan,

There are several formats that aren't available on Linux and, unfortunately, that includes CSAR format. I don't believe there is a way around that. If you tried to create a workspace with that format on Linux, you wouldn't be able to, so I'm guessing you created it on Windows and tried to run it on Linux.

Anyway, you can check our formats list for any other format you are interested in, to see if it will work on your preferred platforms. You can also check with your sales representative (at Safe or a partner) if you need to move a license from Linux to Windows, but from a technical point of view I'm afraid there's nothing else I can suggest.

Regards

Mark

Thank you Mark,

We will use a CARIS API to transform the data in x, y, z format, then we will be able to launch the workspace using x,y,z format as input.

Have a good day
