Hello everyone, I have an excel spreadsheet shows run, pull out and pick up and so on. There is one pull out and many pick up rows for each run. I want to keep only two records of each run; Pull out and the very first pick up. Is there any way to trim not required data? Here is the screenshot of spreadsheet:Thank you.Goraya

DBF attribute names with accents problem on FME Cloud.

Hello,I have ESRI shapefile where one attribute name contains 'ž' character. When I load this locally on my computer, when I specify in which coding the DBF file is saved, it reads it fine and I can store it in postgis database.However when I publish that workspace to FME Cloud and run it there, this character is not displayed, all I see is this character: ? Genereate new identity and make bind to it

Automatically export PDF from ArcMap

I've got a longer workflow which downloads and processes data triggered by change in a webservice. As of now FME Server runs automatically and creates an FGDB-ouput. Since I've also got a map series in ArcMap which I use to produce PDF-maps based on the data created by FME, I'd like to automate the whole workflow.Is there any best practice on how I can trigger this through FME?

Import data from Excel spreadsheet using file path

Hello FME experts,Is there a way to read an Excel table containing file paths (100's of them) and load the data into a workbench?I would like to open the MapInfo TAB files to know the projection parameters and list them in the spreadsheet.Any help would be greatly appreciated.Thanks, Thiru

How to Apply the Same Type of Merge 18 (or n number of) times without 18 Feature Merge Transformers

To Whom This May Concern:I process fields and produce a table of 60 attributes. In another document, I have 18 different curves (numbered Curve #1 through to Curve #18) as per the screenshot attached to this document (e.g. ). I am able to apply a Feature Merger transformer to a single Curve (e.g. by using a Tester or Test Filter to isolate for any one curve). What I hope to do is automate the process such that I can merge the 60 features from the one curve to the 50 attributes belonging to each individual curve in the other document (e.g. merge the 60 attribute document to 50 attributes n number of times based on the number of curves available in the other document I'm working from). Is it possible to automate this process using a single Feature Merger? Or would using InLineQuerier be more beneficial in this case? Any ideas or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.Best Regards,- J

APPCRASH after deleting temp files

Hi all,I just deleted the foldersin my C:\\users\\...\\appdata\\local\\temp directory as a workbench that used to run fine was running into memory issues and I was clearing up space on the drive. However, on starting the workbench again (and also others) I get below error message. Custom reader providing multiple feature types

I am in the process of developing a java based reader/writer for a custom data format. That data format is a single file containing records of different data types. I have implemented the readSchema() method in the reader and the information is also retrieved by FME when the reader is added. However, only one feature type (the last type reported by readSchema()) is added to the list of feature types and the workspace. When the feature types are extracted by adding a new writer with the option "Extract from dataset...", all feature types are successfully extracted and added to the workspace.Is there anything special that is needed in either the code or the metafile to enable that functionality for the reader? I can see from the spatialite reader, that it is possible after all but currently i have no idea what controls that behavior.

Coordinate system reporting as 'deprecated', but is still valid

I have been using the Colorado State Plane coordinate system EPSG:2877 for several years. FME has always warned me that this is a deprecated coordinate system and to use a new one.But FME 2015 now doesn't let me use it at all (I have posted a thread on this here and here). Error on writing Aggregator results to Writer

The Netherlands contain 12 regions (provinces) from which I clipped the bigger urban areas, so to have the remaining rural areas and smaller villages. After the clipping I had to group the areas into 12 provinces again by means of an Aggregator transformer. The weird thing is that I can see all the 12 provinces in the Data inspector, but whenever I try to write them to output, e.g. a shapefile or Geodatabase I get errors .Shapefile errors: Dropping heterogeneous aggregate feature for the ESRISHAPE Writer, due to feature type allowed geometries restrictionThe result is only 8 provinces. In the Data Inspector I can see that missing 4 differ from the other 8 in the fme_type which is fme_collection, where the other 8 have fme_multiarea: FileGDB Writer errors: Failed to write Geometry to feature class 'FeatureClass1' with geometry type 'esriGeometryPolygon'. Testing for LAS files with zero points

I was loading a set of LAS files to process through the RASTERDEMGENERATOR transformer and kept receiving an error which would stop my workbench "Either all points are linear or initial set of points did not consist of 3 non NAN elevations". After scouring the log file I noticed some of the las files being read contained no points. Once I manually identified those las files the processing went on with out a hitch. My question is how can I test incoming LAS files so they will filter out files with no points in them?

Combine multipe excel files with multiple sheets into one workbook.

I have a folder that contains all the excel files I need to parse. I need a way to combine all the workbook files and work sheets and parse the data into a new workbook in a table format. Can FME do this?

I have downloaded the FuzzyStringCompare transformer and tried to install it. It appear it is already installed yet it is not available to me in a workbench. Are there settings I should be checking. Does this transformer only work with certain versions? I cannot find detailed info how transformers downloaded from the FME Hub work. I am useless with Python scripting so don't want to go down that route for the work I am doing.

Is there an easy way to copy database connection definitions from Desktop to Server?

I have a lot of named database connections defined in FME Desktop and would like to have them all available on FME Server. Is there an easy way to publish / copy named connections from Desktop to Server? I know that I can publish a workspace and the connections will get copied up but I don't want to have to create a dummy workspace with all of my possible DB connections just to get them published. I'm also hoping not to have to re-create all of the connections manually on Server...

How to define the rotation angle of annotation? (SHP to CAD)

Hello,(FME 2014) I have a shp containing the annotations of my project. 4 attributs:- gid / text / rotation / policeI am using labelPointReplacer and then DWG Styler to convert the shp in DWG.Though I've declared wich attribute to use for the rotation of the text, the annotations remain oriented to 90° .I am sure I'm doing it wrong, so any suggestions? :)

FME Server and Published Parameters

Hi All,I am getting confused with some issues with published parameters and running schedules via FME Server. I can run the workspace manually via FME server, the published parameters are filled, and it runs no problems. Create Hash MD5 with FME

I try to create an md5-hashcode in my fme-workbench. The only way I found is to create it with python.Is that right? No other way?Ok, I tried with python, but I got some errors. Can anyone help me?First I created a new attribute where I concatenated all needed attributes and then I used this code in a pythoncaller:import hashlib, os def getHash(feature): mystring = feature.getAttribute('concatenated') # Assumes the default UTF-8 hash_object = hashlib.md5(mystring.encode()) print(hash_object.hexdigest())I hoped that I get back a new attribut called hash_object with the code I want. Problem with postgis gemetry when using FME 2016

Hi,I have used FME 2015 to transfer data from shape, mapinfo file, etc. to postgis and everything was correct.. Now with FME 2016 nothing is correct.. In Postgis I get the type of geometry (geom (geometry)).. But i want to have it like before geom (point), or geom (Linestring), etc. Is-that possible?Thanks

TestFilter - Is there a way to "import" values?

Is there a way to import values when creating expressions in the TestFilter similar to the way that the AttributeValueMapper works? In the AVM, you can import the values of a field. This is especially helpful when I am working with datasets that I don't know the 10's or even 100's of values that I am working with. Additionally, having access to "import" or choose from values in the TestFilter would be extremely helpful and time saving. I know that I can run the AVM first, look at, and clean up the data before running to the TestFilter but it would be a very time-saving feature to implement (if there's no quick workaround.) Does anyone have an idea if this is possible or would find some iteration of this useful in a future release? Regards, Matt

How to define the destination fanout directory in a WorkspaceRunner from the Workspace it calls in FME 2016.1?

I have a batch process with a Directory and file Path names reader (files are in a different folder depending on county and municipality for example \\xyz\\DATA\\Topo\\N50\\Original\\fylke_kommune\\01_Ostfold\\0101_Halden) and a WorkspaceRunner that calls a worskpace that does a conversion from SOSI (norwegian standard) to shapefiles for all the sosi files (*.sos) into a new directory with subfolders named after the file's county and municipality it belongs to. In the conversion workspace I have the writers destination as fanout expression of the county and municipality that is extracted from the Path being read with a filenamextractor (_dirpath) and a string searcher (_firstmatch) and then a stringreplacer to change the destination path (updated _dirpath). So the files will be generated in a new folder whose naming depends on the County and Municipality that is in the path of the reader (Destination folder: \\xyz\\DATA\\Topo\\Norway_N50\\Converted.
