Error in JSONTemplater

Road features, GML to CityGML

Hi, I want to transform a 2D gml file to a 3D Citygml file. The data I have is a road feature and are polygons. I tried a lot, but till now didn't really find out how I can do that. Can anyone help me, the best would be a step by step explination. Thanks a lot!

SQL: aggregate table data in subgroups

Hi, fellow FMEers. I have a simple yet complex problem that I need to solve with SQL (SQLite) for my FME-script to run efficiantly. This may not be the correct forum, but since there are so many talented people here who enjoy helping out and solving complex problem I thought I'd give it a try here anyway. I have data I want to aggregate but in subgroups - taking z-level into account. It's a geological profile where I want to simplify the incoming data before I create my profile. Example datax, y, z_from, z_to, value1,2,1,2,A1,2,2,3,A1,2,3,4,B1,2,4,5,A1,2,5,6,A1,2,6,7,A1,2,7,8,Cwith SQL I want to aggregate on value but only rows that are adjacent (sort of a dissolve but on non-spatial data). And I want to calculate (also in sql) the correct z_from- and z_to-values. So the result from the example data above should be:x, y, z_from, z_to, value1,2,1,3,A 1,2,3,4,B1,2,4,7,A1,2,7,8,C Any help on this will be remembered for all eternity.Peter

How to keep attributes in custom transformer locally

Hi all, I am working a lot with custom transformers lately and I noticed that if an attribute is created inside the custom transformer, it overwrites the value of this attribute if the feature entering the custom transformer already has an attribute with the same name. I was wondering if / how it is possible to keep the attributes created in the custom transformer local so that they don't overwrite the already existing attributes (not exposing the attribute in the output port doesn't work since then the initial attribute also will be unexposed. I am asking for this behaviour since I want to be sure that my custom transformers - that are used by multiple people - don't mess with the attributes unexpectedly.I figured that I could be using a custom prefix for attributes created in the custom transformers but this isn't the cleanest solution in my opinion.Thanks for you help!JeroenFYI: The related 'idea'

Vertical Reproject HT2_0 to EGM96

I have some points that were acquired with GPS using HT2_0 geoid and WGS84. I need to reproject the elevations so they reference the EGM96 geoid. How can I do this in FME using CSMapReprojector? FME Equivalent to Merge in ArcGIS

I have four different feature types that I want to merge into a single feature class. In ArcGIS, the merge tool will keep all unique attribute fields, which is what I want. I have looked into FeatureMerger, but I don't think that will work, since I am not trying to join anything. Are there any transformers that can perform this operation?I am using FME 2016.

I have a raster file with elevation data and I would like to extract the value of each cell and make a point vector output file with each cell's value. How can I do that with FME?Thanks

JSON - packing arrays on Templater.

Hi,I have a number of lines that join each other to create a 'web' like network. I need to find out every single unique combination of line segments that join together. Does anyone have any ideas on how I would go about this?Thanks,

When I want to create conditional values on the request-URL parameter of a HTTPCaller. FME Desktop crashes instantly. I tried it on a blank workflow with only one new HTTPCaller transformer, but again instant crash. I have: FME(R) 2016.1.0.1 (20160516 - Build 16494 - WIN64)

Exporting smallworld data to Esri Geodatabase (Personal Geodb)

Hello,I want to export Smallworld (4.3) objects to a Esri Geodatabase (Personal Geodb) with FME 2014. Creating the database with the objects seems to go without a lot of problems, but the objects don't have any geometries. During the initial setup and run of my workbench, the logfile showed that the attribute 'fme_db_operation' needed a value, so I added a 'INSERT'. This helped in creating the database, but the geometries weren't created.When using Smallworld 4.0, I didn't have those issues when exporting to the same format, so I don't really know how to get the correct result. Any ideas or suggestions?Thanks a lot!Luc

Adding custom coordinate system in FME server

Added custom coordinate system in MyCoordSysDefs.fme and in the csmpa transformation, i used the source corodinate system as this custom coordinate system and published the workspace in FME server along with the file. But FME server is not recognising the custom coordinate system

Non-overlapping Polygon Buffers

I have a shape file of world time zones sourced from here, and it looks like the screenshot below. Note- I can find TZ shapfiles that are simple large polygons covering the entire surface area which they represent, but they are usually out of date and some are not accurate enough. I have a GPS log of points collected where the dates/times are stored in zulu time, which I would like to adjust for the timezone they are in to represent the local time. I know I can easily perform a point on area overlayer to associate the appropriate timezone for each point, but the issue I am encountering is that there are points that do not fall within the TZ polygons. I need to be able to associate the points falling outside of the polygons with the appropriate timezone. What steps would take to accomplish this? Best thought I had was to perform a geographic buffer on each of the polygons (26k+), dissolve them by the timezone ID, and perform the PoA overlayer, but the problem is that such a bufferer cr

Read only the Default model in Microstation DGN

We have dgns that have multiple models (both design and sheet models). When I am writing these features to another file (fairly obscure Graphic Technologies, GTViewer files) it takes the elements from all of the models in the DGN. How can I set FME to only read the features from ONLY the "default" model?

Advanced browser in microsation reader

Hi, I am using microsation(V7) reader to read various microstation DGN files in order to get them migrated in some other file formats, while selecting the source files the advaced browser is not allowing me to add folder name, I had to individually select the files, currently I am using FME 2015.1.0.1 the previous FME versions allowed the user to add the path of a root directory under folder so that one can mention the root directory followd by the filter extension and check the subfolder option so that all the files with specific extension which may reside in diffrent subfolders got selected, this kind of facility is not available in this version. Can anybody help me in getting a solution out of this. Thanks in advance IMRAN

Published Parameter regular expression

I have the following Regex ($(random)|IF|NOT|AND)$(random) is a published parameter for FME Server, I want the user to be able to type any extra 'reserved' words they would require. This works fine when the $(random) parameter is populated, the problem is when it is left blank.How can I ignore the blank published parameter when the user decides?

XMLFlattener has no output

Dear all, I am at my wit's end here.In this article: https://knowledge.safe.com/articles/1207/reading-c...the XMLFlattener transformer is shown. I have made a workflow with the xml from the article as input file for an XMLFlattener to create feature paths at the node 'shipto'. The input file is valid XML. The output of the flattener however is only a _creation_instance attribute with a value of 0. As a test I fed the XML as an XML Reader. Instantly it translates the xml children in the correct feature attributes.What in the world is going wrong here?I have been searching for 3 hours or more, tried the XMLFragmenter but the results are the same. 3d distance between points and polygons

I have 2 input files. One is point cloud, and the other one is the CityGML. In the CityGML, I have the roof surface (polygons), and for point could, I have all the points just above the roof. I wanted to measure the (vertical) distance from roof to each point.I firstly used the SurfaceDraper to drape the points onto the roof, then measure the distance between the draped point and the original points. But it didn't work by SurfaceDraper. Then I wanted to create lines between every initial points and the points on the ground(I set the points' z value to 0). I wanted to use 3DLineOnDTMIntersector to the points on the roof surface with which I can measure the distance.However, I can't even connect the points in point cloud with the points on the ground to make these lines. I tried PointConnect but it can't make separated lines.. Is there any other transformers that can help?Thanks in advance.

SpatialFilter keeps rejecting filter polygons

Hi all!I've got a point cloud file of an area, and citygml file of this area as well. In the citygml file, I have the roof surface as polygons. Now I am connecting the points in the point cloud with the polygons of the roof surface. I tried several transformers, such as PointOnAreaOverlayer, Interjector, and now SpatialFilter. But as you can see in the below snapshot, the filters are rejected at the first place. I tried to add a BoundingBoxReplacer to my roof surface before the SpatialFilter. But still it didn't work.Thanks in advance.

I'm attempting to convert a .dwg to .shp with FME software. So far I have pulled in the .dwg, added the writer to convert to a shapefile with a specified coord system and chose the location of the output dataset, and now my screen looks like this but I do not know how to actually access or move/save these shapefiles so I can open in arcmap. I do not need to manipulate files in any other way, just need to get them into arcmap. This is what my screen currently looks like:

IFC Feature format attribute

As a newbie with FME I started with the tutorial BIM to GIS (basic).I used the tutorial field, added my reader and tried to match it in the workspace to the source IFC. However, my IFC (exported from Revit) has very few feature format attributes when the IFC tutorial source has a long list, and the attribute selected in the Tutorial source does not appear in my IFC source.Where does the feature format attribute come from? Is it from the revit IFC exporter, or does it depends from my revit model?Thanks

Extrude 3D face untill a certain z-value is reached

I have 3D faces that I want to extrude downwards untill they reach a certain z value. This z value is different for each face and included as an attribute. The problem is: the extruder only let's me extrude downwards over a certain distance or vector, creating a solid with the same structure at the bottom as on top. However, What I need is a flat structure at the bottem, at the level of the z value. Is there a way around?PS: I already managed to do this by creating also an exctrusion downwards for this z-value, and than clip both extrusions. Unfortunately, this method is unacceptably slow for me.
