Line feature direction

What I need to do is first set the flow direction for the pipeline and from there I can use transformers to copy attributes from a point feature and copy it to the line feature that is behind it (flow direction). The line segments are not collected in a numerical object id order, so I can't figure out how to set a flow direction to be able to set attribute values that both feature classes share and should be the same.*GDB feature classes*Example:

Las version vs FME desktop version

Hi,I have a LAS file in version 1.4 and FME desktop 2014.When reading the file I get following error: "version minor out of range".Is FME desktop 2014 compatible with LAS version 1.4? In the reader/writer documenattion I read "FME supports LAS versions 1.0, 1.1, 1.2, 1.3, and 1.4".Or could this be a problem not related to versions?Thanks,Rob

Multiple WFS readers in workbench still limit on max features

I want to extract information from a WFS service, but the WFS services has a limitations of 10.000 features. The WFS service is: http://afnemers.ruimtelijkeplannen.nl/afnemers2012/services?SERVICE=WFSThe number of features is around 40.000: http://afnemers.ruimtelijkeplannen.nl/afnemers2012/services?REQUEST=GetFeature&SERVICE;=WFS&version;=2.0.0&typename;=Bestemmingsplangebied&resulttype;=hitsSo I thought I could add multiple WFS readers to the workbench each with a different setting at the 'start feature' and 'max features to read' (see below)Parameters reader 1:Parameters reader 2However when I run the workbench the request is still limited to 10.000 features; as you can see in the screenshot below.Does anyone know how I can workaround this limitation?Another option would be to perform an attribute or spatial selection on the WFS reader, because I only need a selection of the features. For instance only the features where the attribute 'datum'

suggestions for learning FME transformers

Hello I am newbie to FME. I have been a GIS Developer (.NET, Python, JavaScript, HTML) in the past 9 years. I started a GIS/IT consulting job a couple of months ago which requires FME experience. I wanted to ask here about suggestions of how to quickly get familiar to these 400 transformers. Should I test each of the top ranking transformers? or should I starting reading the transformer Reference Guide? Does FME provide a python API or mudule like ArcPY? any tips or suggestions to get me started would be much apprecaited.

FeatureMerger - how to keep Requestor's fields?

I used FeatureMerger to join two tables, but I didn't see any fields other than the KEY field were kept in the Mergered or Referenced ports. Is there a way to keep all Requestor's fields when using FeatrueMerger? Please help!

Lakes and Rivers won't drape over DEM [Minecraft]

Hello FME! I have some data in the Esri shapefile format that consist of rivers and lakes, using data from Kartverket.Originally they were in the SOSI format, used by Kartverket. What I've done is that I've taken the polygons and the polygonlines and converted them to the Esri shapefile format using QGIS. Why is the area with value 0 not preserved as is when using the sliverremover with priority 0,1,2?

The sliverremover transformer is configured with priority setting 0,1,2 for different areas. Idea was to keep area with the value 0 unchanged after running the workspace. But this is not the case. value 0 is also changed in some occasions. How can I be shure to keep the areas with this value untouched?

Calculate measures on a specific point on a line

Dear FME community,I have a line and a point dataset. The lines have measures, generated with the MeasureGenerator. Is there a way to extract these measures on a specific point? The points are in the other dataset.For example: The blue line has the measures (1 per coordinate). The red point is another dataset which intersects the blue line. How can I access the measure at the location of the red point?I can access the measures at the beginning of the line with the following settings (and save these in the attribute Netz_VST), but how can I tell him to use the point dataset?Many thanks and best wishesThomas

Hello, I'm using the AutoCAD Real DWG reader to read in a dwg which contains an XREF.The xref, (dwg) is in the same folder as the main dwg and resolves when opened in AutoCAD.The "Read External References" param in the workspace is set to Yes.When the features enter the workspace the xref has an autocad_xref_status of unresolved.I use the "Explode Blocks into Entities" param so I can output to DWF and toggling this param has no effect on the xref.I've changed the path options on the xref in the main dwg; none of which makes a difference.Looking for ideas on how to overcome this limitation.Thank you in advance!Brek

Basic attribute removal

I have a shapefile from a GDB and I'm trying to remove extra fields that are null, blank, or just aren't needed to make the file size smaller and generally clean things up. I have my reader, the attribute remover, and the writer but when the translation is done and indicates it was successful, I open the new shapefile and all the fields that I wanted gone are still there. Am I missing an additional transformer or should I write it out as a GDB? This seems so simple but I can't get it to work!

how to use data series in the Chartgenerator

I want to plot 2 data series in one chart. But the chart generator creates 2 charts or make it as one serie. I have used an list with an feature representing the dataserie. And i tried it without the list.

Need to add height value to a 2d point layer using a DTM layer based either on ASCII or NTF files.

I have tried PoinOnRasterExtractor but this does not work. I have tried to use the PointCloud transformers but still no luck. I must be missing something but can't see it.
