WorkspaceRunner: Issues with sketchup and geodatabase

I have successfully implemented a WorkspaceRunners that run a workspaces that read in from CSV files, IFC files and Shapefiles. However trying to implement a similar WorkspaceRunner to read a batch of Sketchup files fails. If the WorkspaceRunner sends the Source filename that the Workspace being called was created with it works fine. However sending another Source filename, the workspace being called fails to read that file. On a different note, I cannot see how to use WorkspaceRunner to read a batch of Feature Datasets in a geodatabase.Thanks

Can FME read Multipoint-layers in ESRI Web Services?

Hi,I publish spatial data through a ESRI Map Service (with activated Data- and Query-operations, so that the features can be accessed. Although FME provides no Feader for that, the "Esri ArcGIS Server Feature Service"-Reader works. However, when I want to read a layer that has (intentionally) the geometry type "multipoint", I receive the following error message: "Python Exception <TypeError>: fmeobjects.FMEGeometry or None is required". When I query the data by using an internet browser, no problems occur. When I read a Map Service layer in FME with regular point-geometry, it works perfectly. I get the same error when I use ESRI Feature Services by the way and the usage of OGC Web Services is no option (I haven't tested that).Thus, the question arises whether FME has a problem with Multipoints in ESRI Services? Or do I miss something? Is there another way to read the features from an ESRI Map Service in FME?Greetings, André

Spatialite line features written in FME viewed in ArcMap creates an unexpected view

I am creating a Spatialite database with FME 2016.1 64 bit. I have both polygons and lines. Polygons shows up perfectly, but the lines are all over the place. I have added a picture showing the lines that should have depicted a road network in a municipality. Have anyone had the same experience or any idea why the lines drawn like this? I have been trying to adjust how ArcMap reads the data with the "query dialogue" but no success. My ArcGIS version is 10.3.1

How to extract out every nth row and put into a column

Hi, I have a xml that unfortunately isn't very structured for me to extract attributes easily. Every <en> line contains attributes that I want to put into specific columns in a structured table.   For example:  <en>3121 </en>  <en> Colorado City </en>  <en> 50.852010 </en>  <en> -89.672167</en>  <en> 5755 0555 </en>  <en> Map 593 N10 Arizona Country Directory </en>  <en> Office </en>  <en>3020 </en>  <en> Toronto </en> <en> 50.578010 </en>  <en>-88.887679 </en>  <en> 5875 1234 </en>  <en> Map 105 K6 Ontario Country Directory </en>  <en> Agency </en>  and so on...   I have 2588 rows of this and there is a pattern. Is there a way for me to extract out every nth row be put together into one column? In this example, every 7th row should be in one column so I would have a field for post code, name, latitude, long

Using Input is Ordered by Group

I have used tiler to tile a polygon and created a tile ID for each tile feeding the tiles to AreaOnArea. Can I use the Input Is Ordered By Group to start the AreaOnArea on a tile by tile basis?

FME Golf: Round 2 - The Log Files

Previously I'd challenged users to a game of FME Golf. The idea was to take an FME workspace and reduce it to the smallest file size possible. The winner was Todd Davis, who took a workspace 75,835 bytes in size and reduced it to 35,229 bytes, while still producing the same result.So, let's call this new challenge FME Golf Round 2!I wanted to make this a little different than before, so here is the twist. What I want you to do is not reduce the size of the workspace, but the size of the log file!If you download and run you get a log file of 42,472 bytes (45,056 bytes on disk) - or that's the size of the log file I get. The challenge is to edit the FME workspace in such a way as to reduce the size of that log file!The rules:The log file must be produced by running the workspace in WorkbenchEditing of the log - whether manual or with a script - is not permitted. PNG/GIF transparency in Adobe Geospatial PDF

Hello,I am using a Adobe Geospatial PDF writer (pdf2d) with a PDFPageFormatter to place a map and some other items into a PDF where map layers can be turned on and off.When reading it PNGs or GIFs with transparency, and placing them into the PDF using the PDFPageFormatter, the transparency doesn't seem to be preserved (for PNGs, the transparent part goes white - for GIFs, it goes black).Is there a way to change the PNG/GIF feature's attributes in some way to allow the transparency to work for an image placed on top of a map in an Adobe Geospatial PDF?

How to bring initial Reader back into LOOP?

Basically, I am adding a 50m buffer to a facility point (first reader) then using a spatial filter to see where population points (second reader) fall within that buffer With those population points I caluclate the sum for overall population in the buffer and then run through a tester to see if it is greater than a value. If it fails it loops back to Expression Evaluator and adds 50m to the buffer. However it is looping the future population points originally selected within the buffer and creating new buffers for ALL OF THEM. NOT what I want.I created a Custom Transformer from Expression Evaluator through to Tester, then added a LOOP from the tester fail back to Expression Evaluator. The is the ONLY point I want to build a buffer around. It does not pass through after the first LOOP. What I would like to do is when the test fails, add another 50m to the buffer each time to that facility until the test passes. This is difficult when it only goes through the analysis once.Curren

How can I set the raster extent in the RasterDEMGenerator? Similar to Specify Ground Extents in the NumericRasterizer?

I am trying to specify the exact extent of my Raster DEM generated from LiDAR data. The lower left (origin) corner coordinates are 500000,5600000; 5m cell size; 500x500 cells, therefore upper right corner coordinates are 502500, 5602500. I can Specify Ground Extents in the NumericRasterizer, but not in the RasterDEMGenerator. Any suggestions on how to do this?

How to divide an Ascii-file into records with a fixlength of 256 characters

Hello FME experts,I have an Ascii file with a size of 75Mb. Expression evaluator across multiple attributes

Does anyone know if there's anything in the FME store or similar that would allow you to perform the same calculation across multiple attributes, e.g. multiply all selected attributes by 0.0001

Geospatial PDF Layer Control

Hello,I am using an Adobe Geospatial PDF writer (pdf2d) to create a PDF with a map where layers can be turned on and off from within the PDF. Alongside the map, I am also putting in borders, logos, and the map licence. I am using the PDFPageFormatter transformer to place all these as I wish.My problem is that every feature type is appearing in the layer control within the PDF. That is to say, even features like logo images, page borders and map licence can be switched on and off by the user from within the PDF.What is the best way to make some feature types not appear in the layer list in the PDF, while still being visible?

FME How to read multiple CSV files from many folders and write to GDP tables by folder

I have 13000+ CSV files, all containing around 13000 rows. These CSV files are arranged in 146 different folders. All CSV files have the same schema with ; as separator. These CSV files contain about 175 million rows of data combined. The folders are named as seen in the picture below (for example ...\\CSV_folders\\5785xxx)CSV files are named like these:I already tried to copy all CSV files to same directory and run them to one GDB with FME. This went well... but resulted too heavy ESRI GDB that takes forever to search through. (175 million rows, around 20GB)Now I would need to make things a bit differently. I would like to work with FME to create one ESRI Geodatabase. It should contain tables named like these folders containing CSV files. A table in the GDB should have all the CSV files loaded in the table, that are inside the original folder. This would split my 175 million rows to 146 tables, making it a bit faster to search trough with Arcmap.So my problem is, how to make FME read

Excel hyperlink to KML file and Zoom to kml_id Name Tag within Navigation Tree

I have an Excel file, a cell with a hyperlink to "Filename.KML" which does open the Google Earth.But I'm looking for a way to have the hyperlink to open the KML and auto select the kml_id (Name Tag) within the Navigation Tree which in return will zoom to the location.

Hello,I'm exporting OBJ files from a CityGML dataset. In the mtl file, FME write a Tr attribute. Can somebody please tell me what is this parameter (I don't see it in the wavefront format definition)?

Transformer for adding unique string attributes

I have to add unique attributes for fields like Tender Number, Project Number etc to all the feature in the database. The whole database having more than 100 features. Which transformer can help me the best. Now I am using AttributeManager, which for different sessions and different Tender set database i have to change the entire attributes in the AttributeManager.

Determing Catchment for a Facility Using a Polygon Layer

Currently I have:A polygon layer with a population attributeA point file containing facility locations. Facility A has a catchment area of x amount of people. Dealing with nullable attributes in XmlTemplater

Hi,  I use XmlTemplater to create gml document. In my needed xsd schema which I use to produce xml sample for XmlTemplater, there is too many nullable attributes. Thing is, validation cann;t pass against schema because attrubutes like <attribute></attribute>. It needs to be <attribute xsi:nill="true"> (I thing). Is there any way to tell XmlTemplater or FME to write <attribute xsi:nill="true"> for all null attributes and empty strings, without writting if/else in XmlTemplater (if null write <attribute xsi:nill="true"> else <attribute>value</attribute>)? Is there some other way I can do this? I have about 300-400 attributes like this.

Newbie question about simplifying CSV data

Hello everyone,I am a newbie trying to learn FME on my own for work and am having trouble with what is probably very simple data structuring... I've been trying to figure this out but can't find an example that is similar to what I'm trying to do, so I'm desperate for help! I have data in a CSV file... columns contain values for each state that correspond to a date (month). The first column contains the list of states. It looks like this...The ultimate goal is to format this data so that I can put it into ArcGIS and display the values for each state over time... I've been able to do this in a test with a subset of the data by manually reformatting the data to look like this..I need to have a date attribute so that I can loop the values in ArcGIS, so I can't just combine the date and state in one attribute. Basically I need to know how to reformat the original CSV data in FME so that there is a feature for each state and month and an attribute with the corresp
