FeatureMerger when would there be a different number of records in Referenced port vs Merged port

FeatureMerger:I wonder if anyone can give an example of a scenario where the number of features coming out of the Referenced port would be different to the number coming out of the Merged port? Would this only occur where there are Duplicate Suppliers?I generally work on the basis that...Merged is features that exist in both inputs (Requestor and Supplier).NotMerged is the rest of the Requestor features.Unreferenced is records which are only in the Supplier i.e. new records.Referenced is the same as Merged.DuplicateSupplier is features with the same join expression as an earlier Supplier feature.

How to Handle GML Multiple Geometries

I have a gml dataset with lat long and British National Grid refences within it. All I want is the BNG reference. Which is hte best way to resolve this issue so I only get one set of geometry and not two?

Find and paste coded value to an attribute

I have an address point with street name and street type fields likeName TypeMain streetPlesantavenueand so on. Also i have table with street coded values likeCodeNameType2345Main street4588PlesantavenueWhat i need to do is for each addreess point find name and type from second table and paste code value to the point attribute. What is the best way for this?

How to parse HTML file

Hi,I would to use FME elements to parse HTML file.I have the following scenario. Navigating through various html pages, parse the html content of these pages, and then store the returned data in a specific format for further processing. I have used HTTPCalled for calling the webpage and retrieved the html content in the 'response_body' field. I have tried to connect 'response_body' to HTMLToXMLConverter but unfortunately it didn't work.So I wonder if there's a way to parse html content of webpages?Thanks for your help!

Can't read files in folders with brackets with Directory and File Pathnames reader.

Dear community,When I try to scan a directory where the folder contains brackets the files in this folder are not being read.I can imagine why brackets cause problems but sadly this data is often external input. Does a workaround exist? Finding lines in a network that overlaps

Hi!I am new to FME. I have a set of network data where the network is made of many segments of lines. The lines are connected end to end or branching out from one common point. I am trying to find possible overlap between 2 segments like this. I have a feeling LineOnLineOverlayer would work but no matter how I am trying it, the _overlap value remains 1 for all the output. I just need to identify the segments that actually overlap. Can anyone please help? Thanks!

Geometry attribute desapearing when using PostGIS reader

I am using a PostGIS reader for a table with geometry type "Point". Once the workspace generated, the feature doesn't have the geometry attribute anymore, does anyone knows why?

Hi all,I have a dgn file and I'm trying to build the following algorithm(1) form polygons using selected levels of the dgn file(2) check the number of centroids inside polygons(2.1) add a centroid when there is no centroid inside the polygon(2.2) if multiple centroids are inside a polygon, change the level of those centroids.How can I achieve the step 2.2.?

converting shape polygon to autocad mpolygon

Hello,i have an issue with the convertion of shape polygon to autocad Mpolygon (with map-data)The mpolygons are ok displayed by autocad map, but when they are opened with other CAD (briscad) programms some of them dissappear. It seems to have something to do with the loop direction of the mpolygon. Autocad is able to detect the incorrect polygons but not able to repair them. (audit the drawing, "incorrect loop direction")When i import the mpolygons directly in autocad, this problem does not accur. So it has something to do with FME.I have been looking for an attribute which could let me change this, but I have not found one. Is there a way in FME to get to change to the loop direction?thanks in advance

Exctract values from a string (attribute value) ?

Hi,I have strings (ex New York : Ballantine Books, c2003, 2006.) what I'm interested to do is to get the year(s) out of that string to populate an other attribute.In short, getting 2003 and 2006 in a different field. As dates are not always the same, regex would be best. Is it possible? If so, could someone explain to me how ? Please.Thanks.

How to detect multiple intersections

I have a problem with detecting intersections between polygons. I have 2 sets of polygons and they have intersection between each other. For example we have 1 pair from 1 and 2 set that must intersects. But programm says that only circle 1 intersects polygon 1 and polygon 2 and circle don't! That is my workspace:What is wrong with my settings and what should i do to detect every intersection?

Return XY coordinate of certain Z value along polyline Z

Return XY coordinate of certain Z value along polyline ZThis is not a measure along the line. Measure might be 11200', but z is 10900'. Also, vertices are every 100' or so -- not easy to interpolate to the exact Z via converting the line to vertices. I want to avoid going too complex with this solution -- is there an easy way that is escaping me?

Control order of processing/transformers in one workspace

Is there a way to control the processing order so that the first part of processing, which creates a backup file, completes before the second part of processing starts. I don't want the second part to start processing on the file before the backup of that file can be created.

Writing nested GML files

I'm needing to write a reasonably complex GML v 3.2 file that will be created from a series of flat tables. OS Authentication for SDERASTER formats

Hello, When you use the SDERASTER reader or the SDERASTERCATALOG writer or the SDERASTERMAP writer it allows you to initially use the OS Authentication option but when it gets added to the canvas the username and password fields are empty and red. It won't let you run the workbench until they are filled in. How do you get it to use the OS Authentication option correctly? Thanks, Peter.

I have a feature class, and one of the fields is "tag". In the tag there are different slices of information stuffed. I need to get the next part: "addr:street"=>"East 79th Street".The first part "addr:street"=> is always the same, it is the second part that differents every time.I tried to use the "StringSearcher", Search In: "tag", Regular Expression: "addr:street"=>"([a-zA-Z0-9]+)".But I now get no matches at all.Is there anyone who can help me?

Re-use python script in multiple workspaces

Creating interactive PDFs with layer visibility

Does anyone know if in FME it is possible to create a PDF with different layers (shapefiles) where you can switch off and on their visibility?

I'm trying to read a SpatiaLite table with a Primary Key Unique ID (PKUID) field, made in QGIS. All the fields of the SpatiaLite table can be read, except for this PKUID field. Even an AttributeExposer does not do the trick. Is there a reason for this? For the moment, I created a workaround: I read the table, together with the spatial data, in a SpatiaLite reader. Then I read the same table in an SQLite reader, which can detect the PKUID field, but does not contain the spatial data. A FeatureMerger does the rest.

elasticsearch writer and missing geometry field

Hi,Im doing some test with elasticsearch and FME writer. I have a very simple workbench that reads (with directory reader) a folder with geojson files, read them with feature reader and dinamically writes to elasticsearch using the elasticsearch writer. The wb works pretty much ok on looping and sending all the jsons to elastic (on different types inside the same index), however it seems that the geometry field is lost when I write it to ES (although present in the geojson"features" : [ { "type" : "Feature", "geometry" : { "type" : "Point", "coordinates" : [ -0.8275947, 38.05902 ] }, "properties" : { "uwwCode" : "ES10030240001000E", "uwwName" : "BENEJUZAR", "uwwNUTS" : "ES521", "fme_basename" : "EDAR_Q2011", "SHAPE_GEOMETRY"

transformer to cut the value of an attribute

Hello, I have a question: I'm looking for an transformer to cut the value of an attribute into predefined pieces and save these pieces into new attributes. In Pentaho there is an attribute called StringCutter (stringcutter.jpg).Of course I can also use the AttributeCreator with different attribute values (i.e. @Substring(@Value(attribute),0,2)) but I find the StringCutter very clear in the presentation.I have tried an attributerangefilter and several others but I only get unfiltered output. Is there a transformer in FME similar to Pentaho's Stringcutter?

WorkspaceRunner: Issues with sketchup and geodatabase

I have successfully implemented a WorkspaceRunners that run a workspaces that read in from CSV files, IFC files and Shapefiles. However trying to implement a similar WorkspaceRunner to read a batch of Sketchup files fails. If the WorkspaceRunner sends the Source filename that the Workspace being called was created with it works fine. However sending another Source filename, the workspace being called fails to read that file. On a different note, I cannot see how to use WorkspaceRunner to read a batch of Feature Datasets in a geodatabase.Thanks
