Feature Merge Type to NONE on FeatureMerger

In many occasions I use a FeatureMerger to verify the match of ID between two datasets.In this situation I really don't want to merge attributes at all. I use the Feature Merge Type "geometry" but then I need to restor the original geometry of the requestor (GeometryExtractor / Replacer).My life would be much easier with an option "None" which checks the match between two dataset but leave untouched both requestor and suppliers so I don't have to worry about attribute accumulation.

ArcGIS 10.5 and Data Interoperability

Hi! In our client machine, we have upgraded ArcGIS Server to 10.5 (previously, it was 10.2.2). We also have a list of FME converters (created by ArcGIS Data Interoperability tool), FME converters are then saved as tools with ArcGIS Model Builder and a python script runs those converters every week. After the upgrade to 10.5, python script stopped working with various error messages:#! EXPLICIT_BOOKMARK_ORDER="false"#! TITIE=""#! LEGAL_TERMS_CONDITIONS=""#! MAX_LOG_FEATURES="200"There messages apper to come randomly, no logic that we could find.With the ArcGIS 10.5 version, the Data Interoperability version is also 10.5, but the FME version there is 2016.1.2 Python version is 2.7.12The thing is, that those models, if started manually inside ArcCatalog toolbox, work perfectly.As I understand, ArcGIS 10.5 needs FME 2016.1.3.Could it be a version conflict between ArcGIS 10.5 and FME version inside ArcGIS Data Interoperability 2016.1.2?Or python vers

attributeExists check

Hi, I am going to check if a set of attributes exists in my feature. For example I have "measuredHeight, CreatinDate, Function" and I want to see if the feature that I have, has all these three titles as the seperated attributes. First I am wondering to know if there is any way to do this without writing any script?! The second is, I think it is very easy to do it in TclCaller with "FME_AttributeExists <attributeName>" But I don't know how can I ask it to check if the three above mentioned(pre-defined) attributes exist or not(Normally I have them as a text defined through published parameter). I appreciate your advice in advanced! Mani

Hi. Im new to FME and this seems like a simple one. I have an attribute called type and within it the following values Floor:FLR1009 Slab:SLB2435 DOR-1000 WAL-2000 I want to remove the Floor: and the Slab: Id rather use a string renamer if possible as the Floor: and Slab: will be constant. Behaviour when validating ArcSDE Geodatabase Readers

Hi, In FME 2016.1 and probably earlier releases too, it is found that if the user lacks permission or if a featureclass is unavailable in an ArcSDE Geodatabase thats has been configured in one of the Readesr in the workspace , FME only tends to issue a 'Warning'. I would expect this to be a more serious kind of Error ( Not warning) and report a failure and abort the translation. Is there a reason why the Validation(Checking for existence/permission) of a featureclass in a Reader is not available and not treated seriously?

fme_db_operation - what does "put" do?

Just using AttributeCreator to set the fme_db_operation value and noticed "put" in the drop down list of possible values along with the usual "insert", "update", and "delete". What does "put" do? Is it specific to certain writers?

Hei,The SQLExecutor transformer uses sets of 10000 records (as postgis reader uses as default). Is there any way to increase it?

Using Tester transformer with 'Right Value' coming from another transformer

Hello, I have a set of lines, with the attribute 'name' coming from a first dataset and another line with the attribute 'linked_line_name' coming from a second dataset. The second dataset only contains one line. I'd like to select the line from the first dataset where 'name' equals 'linked_line_name'. So far I've tried using the Tester transformer but can't seem to make it work as I would like to. I created and joined a sample workspace to illustrate my problem a bit more: The first dataset contains 4 lines, the second just 1. I want to select the second line 'def' from the first dataset as its 'name' attribute equals 'linked_line_name' from the second dataset. I understand why the parameters I've entered for the Tester transformer won't work but I can't figure out a way to achieve what I want. Any idea? Thanks a lot!Elise

Dissolve/Smooth touching data in 3D

Hello everyone,I am new to FME, I just turned to it in search for a GIS problem I couldn't solve in ArcGIS and I am surprised by the wide choice of tools! But I still haven't found the solution I was looking for.I am looking for a way to dissolve or even better smooth touching 3D data. My input data is ESRI shapefile (either multipatch or polygonZ). Any workaround would help, and avoiding to obtain a single feature in the output but maintain the attributes of segments (except at crossings) would be a great plus. Briefly, what I have is a street network as 3D polyline shapefile, with a field indicating the width of every street. In ArcGIS I used 3D symbology to create a strip of the right width, and "3D layer to feature class" to obtain a multipatch. However, this operation naturally cause overlaps at road crossings, which are a) not nice, and b) causing many issues when I process my data further (e.g. flickering "Z-fighting" polygons).One idea was to use th

Why are empty values replaced with today's date in the DateFormatter

If I choose Frankfurt region, does all my data including backups and snapshots remain only in the Amazon Frankfurt availability zone or is there a backup/ mirroring into another zone (Ireland) or Region (US East)?

JSON Transformer: Headlines /Error on Reading

Hi Guys,I am new at the FME Software and actually trying to transform an json file to an csv file. With the example i could create such flow that works. I checked the Output and wondering a little bit that the headlines of the json objects are in the fields. Example:{"cruise_nid":413358Cruise_nid is the object name (in a json array) and the 413358 is value. In my powershell script that i actually using for that transformation, the cruise_nid used as Headline. How i can configure the JsonFragmenter to use the objective names as Headlines?The second Point that i got is that on anorther json i got an error that the json is not valid:A JSON syntax error was found at line 39, column 28A sequence of bytes was found which is invalid in the utf-8 Encoding.I checked the json file, but there isnt a column 28 in the line 39. In column 59 i got an umlaut. But i thought that that will be in UTF8 be no Problem. Any tips?RegardsTimo

Output attributes from BulkAttributeRenamer missing ??

Hi,I've run into a curious problem.I'm using an XmlFragmenter to extract certain elements from an XML file, and specifying that the attributes should be "flattened", giving them a custom prefix.Then I use a couple of BulkAttributeRenamer with "Remove Prefix String" to remove the prefixes from the attribute names.However, any transformer added to the flow after the BulkAttributeRenamer's cannot see the renamed attributes, and report an error if I enter the attribute names nonetheless, marking the transformer as invalid.But if I run the workspace, ignoring the "invalid transformers", the output is as expected !This is not a good situation, and is an invitation to future problems. Is there a way to remedy this ?CheersLars I.

Check if field exists and fme_data_type

Hello all, I am being sent a large number of ESRI file geodatabases. Within these I need to: 1) check if the individual feature classes contain a specific field (this field, e.g. [Field_x]), should be contained in all feature classes so can be a generic test accross all feature classes). 2) secondly I need to check the fme_data_type, this should always be Integer I am first trying to test this on one field - however I will have a lot more to test and will need to add and remove more tests over time. Can anyone help on how to achieve this? I have loaded the .gdb into FME using the "Schema (Any Format)" translator and I can see the values I need to test agains recorded in the attribute{}.fme_data_type and attribute.{}name attributes - I just can't work out how to test them! Read and processing multiple files in a directory (but not together)

Hi, Can anyone advise me how I can configure a workbench to read all the files into a workbench? However, I do not want to read them all in at the same time (using the 'directory' reader feature) so that the features from different dataset are all running through at the same time. In essence, I want to read the first file in directory, process and write out the results from the workbench, then and only then read in the next file and process, repeating until all files have processed. (Because the processes I want to run I think it will be too difficult if I try to process all the files at once, therefore I would rather that the datasets are handled in isolation. Writing to file geodatabase is not working anymore after Windows update

I have been using a workbench for months which writes to a file geodatabase using the 'Esri Geodatabase (File Geodb ArcObjects)' writer. I am using FME 2016.1.3.1 64-bit (I was using a previous version of FME 2016.1 and was hoping that an update to this most recent version might solve my issue) on a computer where ArcGIS 10.4.1 with background geoprocessing and ArcGIS Pro 1.3 is installed. Coincidence or not, since the latest updates for Windows the workbench is not working anymore. In the image below you can see which updates have been installed.On my computer runs Windows 7 Enterprise Service Pack 1.The error I get in FME is: Unable to perform any licensing related tasks. This is a 64-bit version of FME which requires a 64-bit version of ArcGIS Server. Or download and install a 32 bit version of FME. Convert .ROI files to an ArcGIS friendly raster

Hi,I have a bunch of files in .ROI format, that I need to convert into something useable by ArcGIS. Each .ROI file has 3 fields - lat, long, and a temperature value - and there is about a million rows. I've managed to convert one into a .IMG file using a manual ROI --> convert to CSV --> convert to shapefile --> convert to raster process, in Excel and ArcGIS. This took about 3 hours. So, with 20 of them to do (and more in the future) I'm hoping to find a better solution. I'm new to FME, and have had a couple of attempts but I'm not really sure what I'm doing so hopefully there is someone out there who does! FME doesn't appear to read a .ROI file, so I'll have to do a manual conversion to CSV, then go from there. *Edit: I think .ROI files were exported from ENVI or MATLAB, as I can't find much else that will read them.Any assistance on this is appreciated!
