Write Records When There are Errors

It seems that the default behaviour for FME writers is to NOT write any records if an error is encountered, is that case? I want my writer to write the records that are good UNTIL the error occurs. This is for the Oracle Spatial writer, the SQL Server Spatial writer, and the Esri Geodatabase (ArcSDE Geodb) writer. Is it possible?Thanks

UPLOAD MULTIPLE FILES TO FME SERVER PROCESS

I created a process to rename and resize jpgs in workbench, and able to select multiple jpgs or directory to run my process, but I am not able to make the process do this when I upload to FME server. Thanks, Chad

Export Unique Values For Each Field From Multiple Datasets

I'm trying to determine all of the unique values for each field for a dataset. I'd like to create a dynamic workspace because I need to do this for 100+ datasets. Each dataset has a different number of fields with different field names.I'd either like to export a csv for each dataset with the field name and all the unique values listed.The data will be coming from feature classes in an Oracle database. Any suggestions?

Spatial Tolerance

I have 2 datasets one has been loaded into a enterprise database and then exported with the object_id of the enterprise database. I am trying to spatially join this object_id back to the original data. The problem I am having is that the process of loaded and then exporting the data has changed the coordinates slightly. See images below. I am wondering if there is any way of manipulating the coordinates of the features (ie truncating some or all of the digits after the decimal) So that I can use the spatialrelator with the EQUALS test. I have some polygons that are with in polygons so buffering and using WITHIN as some other posts have suggested would not be ideal.Polygon APolygon B

writing csv-file, unwanted type conversion

Hi,I am facing a problem while writing into a csv.file:FME converts the string '2-4' into 02.Apr., no matter what field type is set.E.g. '17-19' remains as it is since it cannot be changed to a date Format.Is there any smart Workaround or do I have to avoid/replace these strings?

How to convert uppercase to lowercase use regular expression

FME 2017.0.0.0I try to use StringReplacer to uppercase letters to lowercase letters, but failed. AutoCAD blocks in FME (Shape Export as DWG)

Hello everyone, I've got a few AutoCAD blocks saved as Blocks.dwg (e.g. with the different blocks named "Block1" and "Block2"). Furthermore I've got some points out of a shape file. Now I want to export the shape file as a dwg file and set "Block1" on some points with an attributive filter and "Block 2" on some other points. My first idea was to read in the shape file, create a DWG writer, use the Blocks.dwg as Template File and fill the attribute autocad_block_name of the points with "Block1" or "Block2". That does not really work. Have you got ideas or hints to realize that. Best regards, Felix

AutoCAD .dwg layers to match with template

Hi all,I have dwg file exported from 12d Model. I need to match layers from exported file with template layers that we use.For example exported layer named X-SURVEYFENCE is a polyline and it has defined style, colour and line weight. It has to be renamed to layer Z-FENCE with settings, that are already predefined in template (eg. surveydata.dwt).If you have any experience in cad-cad transformation please assist me in resolving this issue.Regards,Maksym

Counting features based on difference in line overlay

Hello,Im new to FME, I can't find the solution to this problem in the knowledge base.Im trying to count the purple horizontal lines in the picture as following: 5, 10, 15, 25 etc. I think this can be achieved with the counter transformer.But when the underlying vertical line feature changes the counter has to reset. Any advice would be of great help.

Using an updated version of my Excel File in a workspace doesn't produce results

I have a workspace with an Excel Reader and I want to change it to read a new version of the file. I can run the workspace with the new file and features are read in, but the resulting output contains blank values. How can I fix this?

problems reading layers from ArcGIS Server Feature service, getting Python exception

Hi,I´m trying to extract data using an ArcGIS Server Feature service reader which is going okay. For some of the layers I´m getting the following error:Python Exception <UnicodeDecodeError>: 'ascii' codec can't decode byte 0xe5 in position 10: ordinal not in range(128)I´m guessing the problem relates to some characters in the tabel of the layer which can´t be read by the ArcGIS reader? Or could the problem relates to the transformer being programmed in Python 2 instead of Python 3 (which i´ve been told is handling encoding-problems better)?I only need the geometries (and the layer names), so is there a way for me just to be able to read the those?If that´s not possible is there a way for me to encode the tables so that I wont get the error-message?Thanks in advance :) Christian

Probelms with output Oracle to dgn V8 with object with two polygon geometries

We are using FME Workbench 2016. Reading a table with land parcels in Oracle Spatial and want to create a dgn V8 with them, the single polygons look right. Also the objects with two polygons where one is defined as hole are correct in the dgn. But the land parcels which where split in two objects by a road for example are divided into two different objects. How can I force the writer to create a single object with two polygons from one object in the database? The "features written" summary shows 20 objects written (database count, correct). Microstation tells me there are 24 elements on this level, because 4 obejcts are now split int two different polygon.

Creating an ESRI Feature Layer using Python

I wonder if anyone has used the Python Caller transformer to create an ESRI feature layer using ArcPY or ArcRest to publish the feature layer in AGOL, Portal or ArcGIS server. I'd be interested to work together with anyone who has a use case for this. With Portal or AGOL writer I could create a feature service but I want my service to be rendered with the appropriate layer properties so all the user need to do is add the feature layer on a web map in Portal or AGOL. An appropriate SD file created from an MXD or lyr file would be necessary to store the layer properties.Per FME documentation: AGOL writer layer creation is not supported.

Can I use String replacer to add a character between two regular expessions?

Hello, I need to reformat some strings. 3/2-A1 needs to become 3/2-A01. Where I have a dash followed by a letter followed by a number I want to replace it by dash, the same letter, 0, then the same number.I can find my string using a regular expression : -[A-Z][1-9]and I've tried -[A-Z]0[1-9] in the Replacement text box of String Replacer but (unsurprisingly that just gives me3/2-[A-Z]0[1-9]Is there away to search for the whole regex, but only replace part of it?

I have polygon shapefile A and polygon shapefile B, and I need to cut holes in shapefile A polygons using polygons from shapefile B. Is there a way to explcitly set the hole cutting to occur on shapefile A only?
